About Us

At Kelly Concrete, we believe in doing things the right way—with integrity, craftsmanship, and a handshake you can trust.
I’m Chad Kelly, owner of Kelly Concrete in Waukon, Iowa. After years of working concrete construction in the city, I felt a strong pull to return to my roots—back to where I learned the value of hard work, honesty, and community.

I sold my home, moved back to Waukon, and began with a 1971 truck salvaged from my dad’s farm. I built plywood toolboxes by hand and set out to build something I could be proud of. I had the good fortune to work briefly with a local concrete contractor who became a trusted mentor. In the summer of 1996, I completed my first job on my own—and I’ll always be grateful to those who took a chance on me.

Today, I operate Kelly Concrete alongside my wife, Kari, my brother, JC Kelly, and our two sons, Reed and Cade. While I oversee the overall operation, Kari manages all financial aspects, and JC, Reed, and Cade supervise projects and contribute to the hands-on work, ensuring the highest standards on every project.

Nearly three decades later, Kelly Concrete remains committed to quality, integrity, and maintaining strong relationships with the people of Northeast Iowa.

This spring we hired Kelly Concrete to put in a 40'x42' basement with a 40'x28' attached garage. Over the winter we were going back and forth with options of what we wanted and they were great about letting upfront pricing and letting us change things to save money here and there without guilt. Then when it came time to start and there was no time wasted! It was like our home was their priority and it was done very quickly. Having said that- for both the basement and the garage floors, a couple guys stayed behind finishing the floors for several hours after the rest of the work was done to be sure the finish was polished smooth. The garage walls were 10' because we were on the side of a hill, making the job more difficult. Our basement floor is going to be exposed concrete and not over laid with carpet so it had to be finished very well. We also added a concrete cold storage room under the front porch that needed core decking. All of these parts were finished beautifully. Our house is still under construction and we haven't moved in, but we would recommend Kelly Concrete.
